Today, I learned about Dr. Connie “Eleanor” Mariano. She was the up close and personal physician for Presidents Clinton & George W. Bush. Dr. Mariano was born in Cavite City.
She just so happens to be:
“The first Filipino-American to reach the rank of Rear Admiral in the United States Navy, the first graduate of the Uniformed Services University of Medicine to reach flag officer status and the first woman to be the director of the White House Medical Unit.”—Wikipedia
Amazing! She has a book out. Perhaps we should delve in?

In other news, Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye may become the first Filipina to become the Cheif Justice of the CA Supreme Court. We’ll see how that pans out.
Flag thisBy reading Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye bio, she seems like a puppet for republicans. I grew up in Sacramento, I know the kind of sell out minority she is. I don’t know if she really has the best interest for her people. Just because she’s colored doesn’t mean this system is going to benefit the minority. She could be a crazy conservative like Michelle Malkin, and Filipinos make the best kind - but who knows? Moving her up might as well be a tactic for Gov. Schwarezegger to make it seem like he wasn’t that shitty of a governor after all by pushing the “American Dream”.
