When I went to the Philippines in 2003, it seemed like western pop culture had a big influence. The variety shows that dominated covered American Music Titles and had familiar choreography, and youngster emulated them on stage during the many town celebrations in December. Even when there was original music in Tagalog, you couldn’t help but taste an overly western, particularly American, flavor.
Now, Cebu Pacific takes it to another level. Safety with choreography. In flight Karaoke, anyone?
